About Haendiges Corporation
Est. 1937 · General Engineering Contractor · CA Lic. #73937

Four generations of family engineering
The company known today as Haendiges Corporation was formed in 1937 by Albert B. Haendiges. Shortly after, it was deemed essential to the United States government in response to World War II manufacturing efforts, with customers including Hughes Aircraft Company, Kaiser Steel, and March Air Force Base. Haendiges expanded quickly to meet demand — and Albert became known for an engineering approach that welcomed challenges other contractors turned away from.
The Haendiges Timeline
1937
First Generation
Albert B. Haendiges
Founded the company that became Haendiges Corporation, quickly earning wartime-essential status and serving customers like Hughes Aircraft Company, Kaiser Steel, and March Air Force Base.
1974
Second Generation
Lawrence Alan Haendiges
Took ownership as home ownership hit an all-time high, transforming the company from an industrial services firm into a full-service residential and commercial construction company with an emphasis on in-home plumbing — while still taking on larger state and local government projects.
1994
Third Generation
William “Billy” A. Haendiges
Began the third generation of the Haendiges legacy, becoming one of the youngest licensed General Engineering Contractors in California. Following the Los Angeles earthquakes, Billy developed his own robotic designs for inspecting and repairing underground pipes and tunnels, making Haendiges a California leader in pipeline inspection and trenchless repair.
- The record-breaking Orange County Magnolia Trunk Pipeline Rehabilitation Project
- An underground infrastructure survey of Disneyland’s New Orleans Square
- An emergency underground infrastructure repair for Anheuser-Busch in Van Nuys — Haendiges was the only firm of the top 10 engineering companies called willing to offer a solution, and became one of the first non-union companies embraced by the Teamsters at the historic Van Nuys Brewery
2005–Today
Koch Industries & Georgia-Pacific
In 2005, Koch Industries contracted Haendiges Corporation to join Georgia-Pacific’s corporate special projects team, developing specialty automated products and meeting demanding logistics and deadlines. The relationship has continued through a master service agreement.
Our most recent project for Georgia-Pacific was the deconstruction of their 400,000-square-foot Buena Park facility on a rushed 60-day deadline. Haendiges removed, tagged, crated, and recycled over 300 gross tons of steel offsite — in under 30 days, ahead of schedule.
“Billy has molded his company to meet our unique logistics and demanding deadlines as well as designing specialty automated products that increase our efficiency.”
